Did You Know? Ray Davies knew Lola would be a hit when his 1 year old daughter sang the chorus he said 'She was crawling around singing "la la, la la Lola." I thought, if she can join in and sing, Kinks fans can do it.'
Lola was also banned by the BBC because they didn't allow product placement and 'Cola-Cola' was in the original lyrics. As a result Ray Davis interrupted The Kinks US tour and made a round trip from New York to London to change the words to 'Cherry-Cola' so that it could get radio play.
